How are these connected?

When i tell a player to man marking i turn his closing down to 1. The theory here is to stop him from going after other players and just stick to the one he's marking, but will that stop him from closing down the man he is man marking?

I'll have to have a look at this one.

I usually have closing down for my Centre-Backs at 3 "Own Area", with my Full-Backs set at 10 "Own Half", with only the Centre-Backs on man-marking. It can vary depending on the formation I'm facing though, as it makes no sense to have two Centre-Backs marking a lone striker.

This seems to do the trick for me.
