I decided to sack off Paul Robinson and Enyeama and get myself a quality GK. I went after Cech, Ustari, Akinfeev and Buffon. Cech was a pipedream (he'd never leave chelski for spurs) and Ustari had only recently been signed by AC Milan so that was never on the cards. I could have got Akinfeev for £35m but in the end went with Buffon for £40m.

Thing is he keeps making awful mistakes. I've sat and watched him kick the ball straight out to the opposition striker on at least 4 ocassions now. Robbo and Enyeama made mistakes too but not as frequent or obvious as Buffon. I've just tweaked his tactics to stop him playing through balls (was on mixed) and get him to just kick downfield so hopefully that'll sort it. Has anyone else seen him make loads of costly errors or am I just unlucky?

By the way, he has Ledley King, Mertesacker, Chiellini and Ratinho in front of him.

Hi,

If his distribution is poor then try lowering his passing and make him distribute to a Defender and nominate your more comfortable FB.

Out of interest how have you set up his creative freedom setting?

Because if it's high this may be why he's doing erratic things.

Nope I have it set to no creativity at all. I'll try the pass to FB suggestion. I'm guessing Chiellini would be best due to same language.

If you have set him to low CF then he should be fine.

Regarding the FB, you want to choose the FB that normally has the best pass completion, should help your side to keep the ball and build up an attack.

distribute the ball to Chiellini and Ratinho, that should help.

i got buffon on a game once and he too was absoulute dog poop, akinfeev better
