Default is eddie johnson really as good as i've heard on fm07?

everywhere i look in the forums there is rave reviews about eddie johnson from kansas. i've heard stories of 40 goals a season and £30m windfalls. obviously he's not that good irl but can anyone verify this as truth?
i have never bought him on fm07 but did on fm06 and he wasn't that special!

As a target man he is quality have him and Owen upfront and they score for fun, wins every header and even though his stats are crap he is very usefull if used in the right way

For the price you can get him, usually under £1 million, then he is superb value for money. Best employed as a target man coz as AFCDAN said he does win most headers. I've had him in many teams varying in stature and each time he performs. If he doesnt then you've not really lost much.

Speed, strength, heading, off the ball, finishing. Any striker that has all these attributes in abundance is a goal machine when playing alongside a decent partner or with good midfielders. More otherwise-average strikers like Carraciolo [spelling?] do a lot of damage because of these stats.

I have bought Johnson into every big team I played as. He keeps Schevy out of the Chelsea team, Kyut out of Liverpool, Saha out of Man U. Strangely he didn't do so well with Leeds in the Championship (18 goals I seem to recall), but that's cos I didn't play a very creative system, going fairly narrow home and away. Got promoted, bought some wingers, and in the prem + cups he got me 37 goals alongside Caracciolo's 23 - both fine headers of the ball - and a jolly nice 20 from the on-loan Vela. Euro Vase place was very welcome in my first season back at in top flight. Looking forward to Eddie conquering Europe, but with Man U sniffing around him, I'm not sure if he'll want to stay.

I dont actually play Eddie Johnson as a target man, meaning in tactics i dont select the target man option......he still has got 20 goals for my Villa team this season,i play 442 with plenty of width so would you guys reccomend setting Johnson to a target man and using the target man option?
