I'm Liverpool halfway through second season and am looking for somebody to cover Gerrard if he gets injured. Would also be nice if he could cover the right wing as well but not essential. (I have Luis Garcia there at the moment - doing OK but will probably replace at the end of the season).
Have done a search and checked out the likes of De Guzman, Van Der Vaart, Sneijder, Anderson etc just don't know which one would be best suited.
Obviously I'm looking for someone like Gerrard that can get forward and score goals.
im guessing your playing him as an attacking mid? i am in my 3rd season on network and play him next to van der vaart, but as the defensive mid, have still got garcia who is effective, just bought joey barton as cover,van der vaart cost me 20 mill tho, he is not cheap, sure some ppl will be able to recommend some cheaper options.
Yeah - playing him in the centre - he's been brilliant for me so far this season so don't want to drop him but if he got injured I would be a bit stuck.
Need someone who can play the odd game when needed but would need to be good enough to cover for any long term injuries.
Like Rutgertje said, you need a cheaper option that will accept a squad status of "Rotation". I'm not really sur about who to suggest, but there is the Good Midfielder Thread you could use, I'm sure you could find somebody suitable from there.
