I only use this before cup games against much higher opposition or league ties against sides I really have no chance against, especially at home when players might be feeling the pressure more.
Used in for the first half of my German Cup tie vs. Hannover (as Burghausen, mid-table 2nd Div against reigning Div.1 champs), and my side did OK. As soon as I gave them the half-time 'Let's get at 'em' chat (think I used 'For the fans!'), they went out and conceded.

For me, the total killer one is 'I expect a win'. Guaranteed to lose the game and play like they've got bags over their heads.

I used it the other day after I had been getting stuck into my team fro their poor form in about the previous 5 or 6 games. It worked a treat, we won 4-0 and started a run of some great form against good opposition.

That's a once off though, normally it has a negative effect. I think it would depend on the "Professionalism" rating for each player

Are you managing a team better than hibs? If yes, that teamtalk will kill you.

If you are managing a club like Derby, then you will need to use that teamtalk maybe around 80% of the time as you are always the clear underdog. Often lead to super GK for human teams.

For individuals, I use 'no pressure' for a youth with squad status 'hot prospect' getting a debut, or for a player on very poor morale.

For a teamtalk I use it for a pre-season friendly against some monster team who comes as part of a transfer deal. I know we're gonna get hammered so it's a good way of dealing with post-match morale issues.

I use it for low-profile debutants and when youngsters are playing against "bigger" teams. Also useful when you have already surpassed board expectations.

With Leeds in the Championship my board wanted at least the FA cup 4th round, so after I won that game I used "no pressure" for the rest of them. Beat Prem teams Reading and Blackburn on the way to valiant 1-0 defeat at the hands of the auld enemy Man-U in the final. Still, nice playing in Uefa cup my first season back in the Prem (playoff promotion).

I only use this one in pre-season friendlies. Any other time, it just feels a little too risky.

I trialled letting the AssMan do the team talks once and even with great stats, his effects were awful.

I always prefer to do it myself, as I'm less upset if I get things wrong than if one of my "minions" does.

Players with low morale and players who are prone to play weak under pressure do often play better when you tell them to relax.
It's also great for small teams that face a top team, but be careful when using it in cup games.
I sometimes use it even for the entire squad when 5-6 players their morale is lowered by much media attention.
I also use it when my team is dominating but not scoring at halftime, i sometimes tell them to relax, and it does help most of the times but not always.
And finally "last but not least" use it when you give one of your youths their debut match.
