I like many of you out there cannot wait until patch 8.02 is released, however I have a few questions and hopefully some can be clarified.
It is currently 15/01/08 and it has been guessed that the patch will come out when the current transfer window has closed, so saying that will it be released on the 1st of Feb or are we then looking at say the 14-15th of Feb?
Will the patch be saved game compatible or will we be better off starting a new game?
I ask these questions because atm I have a really interesting save game, however I don’t want to keep playing it and then find out that all the fixes will not work because we need to start a new game. On the flip side I don’t want to have to wait another 1 month until the new fix comes out. If it is going to be released say by 2-3rd Feb then I am happy not to play FM for the next 2 weeks and wait. Reason being is I don’t want to get into the game, then find out I need to start a new one.. J
So basically to re-cap:
*Any idea on release date?
*Will it be saved game compatible?
I would imagine the release date would be more like the 14/15th rather then the 1st and it should be save game compatible but like always its best to start a new game.
1st Feb? Blimey. Transfer window doesn't close until 23.59:59 on the 31st of Jan, so wanting the patch and data update just hours later is a bit unrealistic.
Can't remember when 7.0.2 came out, but I think it was at least ten days after the window shut. And I guess this year there might be more issues about coding to deal with.
I'll bet none of you are aware of my psychic powers. I know already know the exact timeline (give or take five days) 8.02.
Somewhere around 13 Jan, give or take 5 days, SI will announce they will be releasing a data update after the end of the month that will, more than likely, include 8.02.
At 12:01 GMT on 1 Feb, someone on this forum will demand the new patch.
By 2359 hrs on 2 Feb, the board will be overrun with posts claiming SI lied about the release of the new patch.
Somewhere around 10 Feb, give or take 5 days, SI will announce the data update/patch is being worked on, and will be released when it is ready.
Thereby will ensure roughly three weeks, give or take five days, of moaning about the lack of updates on the patch. Then, around 1 Mar, give or take 5 days, SI will announce 8.02 is in beta, and will be released "soon, if there are no problems."
There will be problems.
Finally, 8.02 will be released on 13 Mar, give or take 5 days.
Once again, the boards will be overrun with moaning, saying the patch didn't fix this or broke that.
