Hello ive just started a new game and im not sure about player/team naming on this forum so I wont risk it.
Anyway my team is not the greatest but about five or six players have the potential to be world class. Now my problem is that several leading european clubs have come in for most of these players and as any manager with ambition would do I rejected them.
However as expected these players are unhappy about this and now after only about three games in to the season three or four players are unhappy and want to leave, is there anything I can do other than sell them?
Most of them have decent enough contracts so theres no worry of them leaving on a free any time soon.
i have the same problem with Fiorentina - chelsea want half my team!
I lost a few players early on in the same situation as you - if i refused they got upset and demanded to leave, so i had to sell them.
However i discovered that instead of refusing, if you click negotiate and ask a rediculous sum for the player, then the bidder will pull out, and the player doesnt get upset.
I normally negotiate for about 3 times what he is worth, very occasionally a team will pay it, then you can buy 3 replacement players for him for that money!
Agree with nighthawk that the best way to avoid this is to put a vastly over-rated price and the bidder pulls out. Once they become unhappy, run with it and see if it affects their form- if it doesnt then leave it and it will probably go away afetr a while.
Also, any potential "Great" players that aren't unhappy yet, you may want to tie down to long term contracts. That way, if they do get unhappy, you still get to keep them for a good few years and hopefully change their minds...
