I'm a newbie and have only just recently purchased FM 2008.

Apparently there is a patch, or maybe more than one that you can download which makes things more realistic.

Could someone please advise me which patch/patches are best to download.

The patch is called 8.0.1 by the way and it includes all the fixes from the previous 2 beta patches that were released before this one. Kepp a lookout for the second and presumably final patch due in late Feb/March which will have all the January tranfers in it as well as some further fixes.

Every time I try to download, it just gets to 80mg and then crashes saying it has lost its connection.

Anyone got any idea why?

Also, when I've downloaded from other sites, its said its completed even though it has only downloaded 6mg of it, but then won't let me open it, saying its corrupted.

maybe try downloading the torrent version, which won't die if you internet connection drops.
