I use Aurora 2006 blue style with the coloured box down the right type thing.
Looking at trying Ice and Hellenic now though as I like to dabble.
On FM2005 Remix was untouchable but it just doesn't work on 2006 is the same way for me.

Going to talk more about this cos Im in the mood to waffle and hopefully give Ter some info.
Have done a bit more research, I use Aurora flow blue RHS. I also like Turnstyle too on FM2006.
For me a skin should be comfortable to read whilst carrying some allegiance to the particular club whom you are in charge off.
I loved the feel of CM00/01 where every team you played at had a background picture of their particular ground, it gave a great feel of being in someone elses territory.
Whilst I enjoy downloading all the logo's/skins/match graphics etc. there are many who don't. My cousin for eg. is well impressed when he plays on my version with all it's different match balls/skins and changed squad screens to give more information but he hasn't a clue how to do this himself.
Maybe all these different match graphics/different skins could be put into future versions of FM as not everyone our there is PC proficient or enjoys dabbling around as much as I do.
Thats my two peneth, hope it helps.

| For what it's worth, I really dislike skins that use the kind of high contrast text for player stats that I think you're talking about. I much prefer skins that make that distinction in much more subtle ways (different "brightness" levels in the stats rather than different colors) -- even if that means a slightly less immediate visual recognition of how good a player is overall. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Yeah I see what you mean, I guess it's all about personal tastes. Personally I don't mean using a colour for 1-5 stats, another colour for 5-15 and another one for 15-20 is the only way to go. But I just like to see some distinction at first sight, guess I'm a bit more impacient than you, hehe. Different levels of brightness could be alright too I guess, it just depends on how it all looks in the end.
That's why I said it's very hard for me to point exact and particular features in a skin, because maybe a big change from what I like would still be confortable if the result is good, while maybe a little change could ruin the whole skin for me if it causes an undesired effect. But then I guess that's where good graphic designers prove their skills |

I use Turnstyle 06.
The reason I prefer this skin is I find it easy to see the better stats of each player as anything over 15 is coloured in yellow. This makes is easy to identify good players.
The colour changes when you select different clubs is a nice touch that makes the game a bit more visually interesting.
I think the spacing of the club logos is a bit crapmed at times, there should be a bit more space around logos (I went to design college and everything was 'use space well').
The typeface used is OK, I'm all for simple sans-serif faces that make it easy to take in the info quickly.
The menu bar graphics are nice, the use of imagery is good and improves the visual appeal of the game. The standard Skins are a bit plain and lack variety. The Cappucino one must have been a half three on Friday afternoon idea, it's bloody awful.
The drawbacks with Turnstyle is it took a while to get used to the continue button's new position. But after a while it feels natural.
Not bothered for Background changes, they make the text harder to read.

Ive used aurora, turnstyle, and chameleon at different stages, all of which are superb. Aurora's probably the best because of its clear design, crisp colours and 'aesthetics' (i know thats a bit of a nothing term, tho anyone who's used it will know ). The fonts pretty good as well, something i didnt like about the default metallic one (which to me seemed too blocky and bland)
The different arrangements of buttons etc doesnt really bother me bc i generally get used to each after a while...
The cappucino one is ghastly (ie explosion-in-a-cesspit ghastly)- just lacking in colour, terrible fonts etc. Its amazing that that one was included on the cd instead of aurora...
I know this is a bit off the topic but i remember an old EA game called FA Premier Football Manager 99 that despite being an average game had a really good design/colour scheme- very 'aethestically pleasing', like that blue and green colour combination

I have used turnstyle Aurora and other famous skins but nothing can beat the E2 skin.
It is simple and easy to use like others have already said.
I am getting bored with it after long time so I might change it into Aurora
