World Cup Groups

Hey, I remember there was a patch/update for CM 01/02 that had the correct WC groups for the 2002 WC at the end of the first season and therefore no qualifiers at the start of the 1st season.

Anyone know if this is possible for FM06, and if so, how?

yes, because I didn't get an answer and still want to know if it is possible. Therefore, bumping it is surely better than creating another thread.

perhaps, but no it is not possible (hence I guess why no-one responded the first time?)

Totally agree with Steven there.

Bumping only makes you look desperate and needy.

I don't think this is configurable with a simple update for FM and would require a change to some of the internal values for the game.

You'd have to ask SI about it in other words.

It's not overly relevent to the question, but it is perhaps to Dans comment : Four Four Two magazine in the UK were supplied with a rinky dinked version of FM2006 modified just to play the world cup matches. The magazine was allowed to choose the anticipated squads, then they left it to run on its own. England beat Germany in the final on 2 of 3 runs, Gernamy beat England in the other run. See the current issue for the full article. I'd love to get hold of this myself and give it a go.
