If you have 1Gb of RAM, then there is another problem, because that should be more than enough as the editor works for me on 256Mb with on-board graphics chip, although it is a little slow.

Is it possible that something has effected some of the data files, e.g. deleted/replaced?

I also have 256mb of RAM with on board graphics and mine freezes up when I load the editor and it says Windows Virtual Memory to low and everything when I reach 3/4 of 'Loading People Data'. I dont think its the processor (could it be?) its 2.8ghz Intel Celeron.

You misunderstand, the editor works fine for me, I was just curious as regards to my original question.
