It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

BoingBoing, do you find that your CD/DM works better with a quicker player? I have just started as Bolton manager, using Campo in that position, an ideal player, if not slightly slow, in my first 4 games I have had 4-3 away loss to WHU, 1-0 home win to Sheff Utd, 2-2 Away to Liverpool and 0-0 home to 10 amn Newcastle... I don't have to luxury of cash with bolton, so your help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Seems to be a great tactic pre-season though

i've just started giving this a go with man city and richards as the man marker. first game i had him mark angel (marked him out of the game) while the other striker scored 2. got beat 3-2 and they had 2 pens and we had 5 bookings and 2 sent off. crazy!
i'm going to try a couple of adjustments. i'll maybe use full back barrows and maybe 1 up front.

Could try Joey'o Brien there , stats i would look ot for are Pace , Teamwork , Marking , Concentration , and Work Rate

You could also possibly try upping the defensive line at home so you are not absorbing pressure through 90mins. Let me now how it goes

Love this tactic, finished 17th first season with Empoli, 1 point clear of Serie B!

Season 2 I started using this straight up. Didn't tweak at all, 8 games plyed, 6 won, 1 fraw and 1 loss. Currently second in the league. Tied against inter and won against Lazio and Juventus (Twice) I am very happy.

I got Lassana Diarra (loan from chelsea at DC/DMC. Also reinforced with Westerveld, Pavlyuchek, Tonetto and Maccarone

Excellent results there m8. Im still hovering around the 4th - 8th spot should be higher , but gota do a houllier and blame the injuries.

I still pleased overall but struggle to keep some players happy. Curtis Davies hates E.Johnson and Modric and vice versa . Ronaldo hates life .

Still playing around etc .

Thanks for all the feed back

Can i just say I'm sorry if i don't go into Depth with my answers but I am still a learner myself. I just think the cd/cm man mark could be a sure winner.

So hopefully by playing around with the concept we can come up with a winner. So i'm sorry if i seem short winded in my answers it is not meant.

I hadn't notice how deep the D-line was, i've upped it now and had some better results.

I find that my tean aren't passing or getting off enough shots, whereas my opposition are getting far more possesion of the ball and lots of shots, as anyone else noticed this

I upped the d-line after getting trashed by Man U at home, I have also tweak other aspects of the tactic, I've posted my results and will try to go into more detail later, I think you'll se my result are still quite random at the moment

Using these tactics with my Southend team in 2011. Been struggling with consistancy especially against the big teams so decided to give these a try.

Played 4
Won 2
Lost 1
Drawn 1

These were either away matches or against "poor/average" teams so hadnt been able to try the "top team" tactic...until I had Juventus at home in the Uefa Cup and well, take a look for urself.
