I had good success with this tactic in my first ever game of 07.(Newcastle so not a bad team but not one of the big guns)
I tweaked to this tactic after 14 games and lying in 12th.
Finished 5th (with original squad as I started with £160k) after being pipped by Liverpool on 2nd last game on goal difference and beat Arsenal 4-0 in last game of season, unfortunately I sorted this tactic too late to enjoy any cup success but have started a new game with this tactic from the start and will let you know how it goes if you want.

(note: I use this player with target man kind of orders but I don't tick the Target man option. This is so although he plays as a target man, He doesn't have to be the target of ALL of my attacks, seems to work well).

So to sum up, this is a 4-1-3-2 formation with the wingers on the halfway line but with short forward arrows.

Whta do you mean by good results?? 1st 4th 9th? Did you have the emphasis on the defence or attack, and did the opposition have many chances against you or are they kept at bay?

It says in the post mate.....I finished 5th but 0nly lost 2 games in the 24 I played whilst using this tactic....As for the emphasis all the mentalities are there also for team and individuals

Oh, and the chances question....cos the def line is deep and the full backs don't 'Bomb on' as such the opposition seems to be limited to long range shots and deep crosses which you can deal with as long as your CB's can head and jump.
