I noticed alot of players who start at the potential ability of say 197, drops to like 182 over the year. What affects the potential ability?

I didn't know player potential could drop, but i would imagine things like serious injuries, lack of quality of training would result in players current ability not improving but I'm not sure bout potential

I didnt think so either.

But i used FM-scout to find good players, around 16-18 of age. and monitor their potential ability. And all of them dropped over the years.

To my knowledge there is nothing in the game, apart from a serious injury towards the end of a players career, that can affect PA. The only way it can be different is by starting a new game because PA is randomly set each new game in a banding of about 30 points so it can be quite different from game to game.

I had Lukas Podolski dropping from 197 to 195.

I had Sissoko dropping from 169 to 168.

the point is. it does change, especially for those starting at potential ability over 190
