Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default conceding free kicks and sloppy back passes

hi,

does anybody know how i can stop conceding silly free kicks on the edge of my area?

also my defenders play sloppy back passes!

i just lost 2-0 to liverpool away, i used wwfans tactics which are doing well but i conceded a goal because of a sloppy back pass and gerrard scored a free kick from 20 yards.

i was winning 4-1 against charlton and i was using my defensive tactic and i drew 4-4 because of 2 sloppy goals, a corner and one ball over the top, so i wasnt unhappy about the styles of goals its just the sloppy back passes!

direct passing + upped tempo seems fair. i only wish we could tell individuals how quickly they should get rid of the ball and not just team mentality

freekicks at the edge of area can mean your defenders are going too hard on challenges, or are merely scampering and can only stop attackers by fouling.

perhaps by posting your formation, players and their settings you can get more help
