Ok, so this is my first tactic posted on here ever. After the latest patch (8.01 official), I've found it even harder to score, going from a goal average of 2.9PG to 2.0, although have conceded far fewer (0.8PG to 0.5-0.4). So to counter this I started trying to make the craziest attacking formation I could think of, whilst not shooting myself in the foot, and here's what I've come up with:
I know, looks silly, but trust me, I've found it works AT HOME (as Chelsea) - so if you want, give it a try. I don't have anywhere to host it, so I'll post my team sliders and describe the rest:
GK is as team except FWruns - Mixed, Cross - Mixed, all elese rare.
DCs all have little creative freedom (about 4) and short passing, all close down in own half (middle), all rare except TTBs and Cross both mixed. Zonal marking, not tight.
MC - as team except for: Mentality and CF - middle, TTB - often, everything else: mixed. This player will act like a playmaker and end up passing about twice as much as anyone else, so good passing and stamina are useful.
Wings - As team except for: Full Creative freedom, Closing down = own half (middle of slider), ecerything mixed except cross ball (often). FREE ROLE ticked for BOTH.
AMCs - Both full attacking, full creative freedom, short passing (about 5); FWruns, RWB, TTB often, cross and long shots mixed. Again, BOTH have FREE ROLE ticked.
FCs - both as team except for: passing = short (about 5), FWruns and crossing often, TTB rare, RWB and LShots mixed. BOTH HOLD UP BALL. Your strikers don't score all that many, they hold up the balls and play in the AMCs and wingers. Get a good fair few through corners though.
Here are my fixtures using this tactic:
NB// I generally don't use this tactic away, unless I forget to change or am extremely confident. NNB// some of those less impressive results were with weak teams sent out (e.g. cups v Coventry, WBA, Charity Shield, ESC). The best result with this tactic was the 4-0 v Liverpool:
Now I don't claim this is a supertactic, but it's fun, and works (so far) for me, with a good team. So if anyone else is bored of grinding out 1-0s and wanrs to try a silly all out attack, give it a try, and let me know if it's working.
