I've seen this sort of thing posted around loads before, so I thought it would help to have a thread which everyone can post about their problems in.
Second Season Syndrome is where you struggle to meet the expectations of the board, fans and players after a successful first year- for instance, a team winning promotion to the Premiership unable to pick up points, or a team that qualified for Europe struggling to make the top half second season.
So, I'll start- where would you guys add to this Sheff United squad to stop me falling straight back into the Championship? An asterisk indicates where I think we need to improve majorly.
Kenny/Corradini *
Armstrong/Naysmith
Kilgallon/Hobbs
Morgan *
Geary *
i came 2nd with harrogate town in the first season
and was looking good for promotion in the 2nd season but i only finished 14th in the league and the board didn't renew my contract so i resigned
centre back - samba, breno, nyatanga
right back - abenzour, sorin
left wing - morais, sepsi, wijnaldum
right wing - torje was good enough for me for my first season in the premiership with barnsley(second season overall) although he is constantly homesick. other options are giles barnes or retrain lulinha to right midfield.
striker - ive always found that sharp is a excellent striker, and is quite capable of stepping upto the premiership, but other options are hoiland, di santo, kardec, guilherme(sp)
