I'm like Rek. Since my Billericay game died, I've only had the desire to play online with the zealots.
I've started a game with Stanno mate (Accrington speak for Stanley) but in a month or so have only got as far as December 1st.

Play is obviously a euphemism for "fall asleep", eh Nobby? |

I didn't play CM4 for ages. Then, I got interested again. Now with 03/04, the game is a struggle again - but not quite in the proportions of 01/02.

I didn't buy CM4 and haven't played 01/02 properly for months now. CM03/04 looks an improvement (though I'm very disappointed by the tactical options), but I can't bring myself to buy it. The demo was so slow, the amount of new stuff like training slows the game down even more, and I have a horrible feeling that for the time being the 20+ season globetrotting career game is no more. But I haven't been able to get back into CM01/02.

Exactly the same has happened in my case. I enjoyed playing CM 01/02; bought CM4, didn't like it; haven't bought CM 03/04; and I haven't played CM 01/02 for months now. When i ddi attempt to start up a new game, I didn't bother loadng it again.
The thing that I hate about the training is that no assistant manager you have can come up with a decent training schedule, so you have to do it yourself, and that doesn't work (in my case), plus it takes up a lot of time.

What's the big deal? You set it up once and don't really have to change it. I was actually happy running the defaults until I changed them out of curiousity in my third season.

It's not that bad o.f.b.g. really. I think we are all just suffering from a case of CM burnout, where we all need to step into the RL and away from the game for a bit.
We've all been playing this game in it's different versions for a long time now, and it's got to come to a head at some stage. It's just come to a head at the same time for a number of us (I hope)

The big deal is that with a team like Arsenal (demo), 95% of the players should not be deteriorating, nor with many other teams, for that matter.
The fact that there doesn't seem to be an assistant manager in the game who can have the majority of players improve is very unrealistic too.

I had costant game crashes with CM4 only ever getting to 2011 at best, before some bug would kill my game.
With 03/04 it is the oppertunity to play all over the world that has got me hooked. I was a conference man up until I tried a game in the Czeh rep. since then I 've benn in 6/7 different contries and the challange has kept me going.
I think you can have too much of a good thing as well. I used to play a number of games for a while then go on to something new. since CM4 i haven't touched another game (which is fine as I'm lovin it). but if you are trying to play your way to lovin it you will become bitter.
I find playing footie for real helps, when I get the teams spread sheet and see my ratings, and when I hear the gaffers team talks, It makes me want to go back and see the same kind of things with my 1st div Chinese side.
May the Llma force be with us all |
