Along with my newly acquired role as Mod of CMO has come the desire to introduce the love of my life to my new mistress. (I like living dangerously)
I think with the advent of 03/04 v4.1.3 (patched) it may be time to consider setting up an "Official" LLaMa Clan, to be linked with CMO, including all the bells and whistles, and I thought now was as good a time as any to sound you out.
My idea would be to have 4 or 5 of us start up an online game to see how LLM and Online gaming would work together, one or maybe two nights a week to start off with (or mornings if the Aussie guys would like to be involved).
I'd suggest some pre-requisites (controversial) for the initial game.
1) All involved would have a Broadband Connection.
2) It would be played on 03/04 v4.1.3 (patched)
3) We'd start in the English Conference. (everyone knows it, there's the most scope for promotions, and the database holds about the most players)
4) (and here's the controversy) I'd suggest that known LLaMas and the closest to Zealot-form as possible be involved in the initial game.
5) One of the other guys would host the game (as I work shifts and can't absolutely commit to definite nights every week)
So how about it? Suggestions, interested parties, etc. in this thread and we'll take it from there...or not.
I'm having problems getting 03/04 to run properly. Possibly through trying to run XP Pro on an old CPU. I'm upgrading my whole system soon but until I've done so and tested CM4 on it I'll have to sit out.
Yea, I'm all for this. It's been really a long time since anyone anywhere has initiated an online game. The last I've heard was a CM 99/00 online tourney 3 years back.
However, we'll have to consider the fact that many of us come from different timezones. As long as convenience is concerned, it might serve as a big hindrance. The last time I tried, everyone else was already sleeping in my part of the world, while I slog on through against a Portuguese. There's gonna be a lot of accomodation to be done, surely.
And, for the information, I'm 8 hours ahead of the GMT timezone. Or rather 8 hours ahead of London time. Consider me done.
if it wouldn't be too late in the night, I might be interested to join. Depends though on whether I'm regarded as a known LLaMa and close enuough to Zealot-form.

I got the new CPU and RAM yesterday, but they'd sold out of the motherboard and graphics card I need to run them. (mind you, the place was heaving so I'm not surprised) I might get all the bits I'm after soon, but like I say, I want to give CM a good testing. The last thing a network needs is someone crashing the whole thing.
