damn, i feel so guilty. i was managing leigh RMI, just started the game. i was told to avoid relegation, with no transfer money. so i loaned players and somehow managed my excessive wage. by november, i was floating around 13th place, managed to keep wages under the budget n started making profits for the club, balance stood at 40k. then came the offer; scunthorpe wanted me. so i said yes. i mean gotta move up the managerial ladder somehow. but deep down, i feel i did myself injustice, i was at the club for only 5 months and left just like that. i have this policy that i wont change clubs unless they offer me a position, meaning i will never apply for a post. but i still feel guilty about leaving so early. i had turned the club around and was heading for probably a good few seasons ahead. anyone face problems like this?
Can't really see the point of leaving after 5 months at a club, I like to give it a few years and feel that I have moved the club forward in a permanent way before I look for a new challenge. Also, it doesn't seem particularly realistic that a league club would poach a manager from a lower level club after a career of only a few months.
I take it this is CM 03/04? If so you will be able to find other threads in this forum about the ammount of jobs that are offered in the game.
Well, if this was actual football, would you take on a bigger challenge so soon? Sure, it may be uncommitted, but I'm sure you wouldn't be the first person who'd moved on that soon.
No, I agree, if such a thing were to happen in real life it wouldn't be at all a surprise if the manager took the job. I don't think it would happen though, so personally I'd pass over the offer for the sake of realism.
The manager of RW Essen in the German regionals left the club after 2 weeks because he received an offer from a Bundesliga team. THAT's what I call commitment.
I only ever felt guilty once! my mother aging fell over and I didn't help her.... oops wrong thought...
I was managing colchester and got a offer for leyton O and I walked, I took a culb I liked over a job that was offered. I think it was the fact I applied for the O's job and was given the Colchester job.
