Since I discovered the LLM way of playing CM, I generally only usually have one scout on my backroom staff, and as a fan of the non league game anyway, I buy the Non League Paper each week. I have found this a useful tool and extension to my scouting network (ie my aforementioned lonely scout) - for example there is a hot shot who has now secured a move to the conference and become a full time pro IRL, who I scouted on CM as he was banging the goals in and making a name for himself, and thought he was worth a look as my strikeforce was lacking firepower, and I had a small amount of transfer funds in the bank. I got my scout on CM to take a look, and ended up signing the player. He didn't really make the grade for me, but if he had I would have found it quite rewarding.
I hope this isn't classed as contravening LLM rules, and just wondered if anyone else uses sources such as the NLP (as its something a LLM IRL would buy religiously, I assume) to assist them

Guidelines, guidelines, not rules. Up to you. Are you totally comfortable with it?

A difficult call this one.
Your not supposed to consider looking at players you know something about in real life, like maybe someone whos been in the papers.
But, I suppose realisticly a lower league manager would have access to these papers and may read them out of interest or even to look for new talent.
I suppose its like scouting for players yourself and would be quite rewarding if you found a gem, adds a bit more realism to the game.
But no, never tried it myself and probably never will.

I'd say it's an option irl, so it is an option in CM?

I can't see it being a problem, as there is no guarantee that he'll be any good on the game. I wouldn't use it myself though, as I don't really follow any real life LL teams. It would be a waste of 50p, which I could use to buy chocolate biscuits with

Da Bird, just because it's a real life option doesn't mean it's an LLM option.
The thing is, loyalwolvesfan, you scouted him, he was recommended so you've pulled off a last minute save in my opinion
Like the guys say, wouldn't do it myself, but if you think it's realistic... |

do it, but its a total waste of time because a lot of the lower league players have fairly random stats and wont be anything like these players you see in the paper
