Hans Krankel (sp) might count as a famous Austrian footballer can't think of another.

There was that England International who looks like you could beat him with a baseball bat and he would still be charging toward goal who donated (or perhaps interest free loaned) to Leciester a small fortune.

I suppose it can happen.

I doubt you could factor it into the game engine for champ, though.

That doesn't narrow it down much, wearra. There's a whole load of Poofland players I'd happily beat with a baseball bat

Very much so. I think that it would be impossible to actually buy an entire league. The legislating processes and all would have cost a bomb.

Furthermore, the buyer could go a few steps ahead and even name it after himself. I'd like to see Arsenal and ManU playing out in Rekwob's Fantasy Bummer League.

Why stop there? Since the English FA seem determined to stamp out obvious corruption, wouldn't it be easier to go right to the top? I'm sure Mr Blatter could be 'persuaded' to rename an international competition after anyone willing to donate substantial funds to his next re-election campaign.

If only this happened IRL. My local boys - Tonbridge Angels - were running away with their league and then lost their sponsor. Couldn't afford to pay their manager and are now losing players too.

Now I shan't name names (heaven forbid ) but there are ex-Angels lurking around the League with plenty of cash in their pockets. Will they bother? Nope.

Footballers, they're right up there with actors for the lost-all-touch-with-reality-now-I've-made-a-few-bob award.

ah ha i knew there was a few tonbridge fans about!!

fisher are my local side i see walker has spent all your money and flown the nest. i seem to recall him doing exactly the same with us.

anyway hows all our old players doing?? dolby, barr, powell & huggins??

huggins is a great player at that level of football very quick. if he would have turned up for training & never sulked when he was named sub for gravesend & northfleet he might have made the grade there.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

p.s austrian striker backing a non league german club toni polster anyone??
