Many of the regular correspondents on the LLM forum emphasise that any trespassing on the Good Player Guide and the Tactics guide is guily as charged and should be exiled from their community. The purpose of this post is to defend the relevance of these forums
Ultimately, is the llama backlash aganist the GPG and the tactics and training schedule the fault of the threads per say? Instead it is the fault of the regular members of these forums.
I do not, ever, download tactics. Because if i'm not developing the strategies myself, why do I bother being a manager? However, i find it frustrating at never being able having to have a good discussion with people on the merits of having wingbacks on normal instead of attacking mentality, for example. No one cares, they just want that killer tactics.
My point is, if the aim of LLMing is to be as realistic a manager as possible, then managers do discuss the finer points of tactics among their coaching staff and colleagues. In addition, being that I used to live near Nyon, headquarters of UEFA, there are regular conferences and seminars on training routines. I would even venture that there are academic journals on this. So why is it 'cheating', as some of Taip's buddies scream and shout?
A slight note on the good player guide. Here again it is dubious territory, But lets say you rushed out to buy CM4 when it was released, used an editor and found all these up and comming stars. But frankly, if i asked my local team manager (swiss first division) that i 'discovered' this portuguese wonderkid called the same name as a brazilian striker in Real, or that i 'found' this dutch kid who'se going to be a legend in Ajax called van der something, or that there's these ****hot argentinians in Boca junior.... Do you really think he does not know already? And I assume this applies to managers of LLM clubs.
Right, the very fact that the "purpose of this post is to defend the relevance of these forums" immediately invalidates it as relevant to LLM.
No-one, and I mean no-one who posts regularly in LLM thinks the other Fora are irrelevant. What they do believe (no, what they do know) is that guys who post in here don't frequent those other places.
Read the Forum Header, I mean read and understand the Forum Header, and then read the "Guidelines" sticky.
Those explain what LLM's about.
Now, if guys come in and don't agree with the LLM way, then they don't post here. If they want to know the latest "wonderkid" or how the best way to play the current Morecambe squad is, then GPG and TT&T are excellent Fora to go to.
Not LLM.
And there you have it. If I wanted to extol the virtues of Black Power I wouldn't visit the Ku Klux Klan Forum. If I wanted to learn "The Soldiers' Song" I wouldn't ask on the Rangers Forum.
Get my drift.
To each his own, every idea has its' place.
Don't come into my house and light up a cigarette or I'll kick your arse into the Street.
However, we both agree that the emphasis of LLM is to enact the greatest amount of realism from the championship manager series.
Do you then consider that the LLM forum is a one-top shop for maximising this? Perhaps others would be less convinced. I look forward to reading their comments.
You write: "the very fact that the "purpose of this post is to defend the relevance of these forums" immediately invalidates it as relevant to LLM."
This is a dogmatic statement not opened to question. However, you are not God. I look forward to reading the thoughts of others.
On the other hand, if it is agreed that you are the final authority on Llamahood, then I take my leave. However, that is something remarkably similar to the Ayatola Grand Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran...
I am not God, but I'm the next best thing. I'm a Moderator of this fine Forum and the upholder of all things LLM
If you'd taken the time to read the Forum Header, and understand it, like I advised you to do, then you'd have spotted the Questioning the ethics of LLM bit, in bold, in the Forum Header.
I'd leave your "sage comments" in GPG and TT&T if I were you, fella
LLaMas don't bring previous knowledge into current games. The random stats mean that a good player in one .sav will be crap in another, and because of the strengths and weaknesses of players, tactics have to be adapted to suit the players.
You can't just decide on a great tactic in one .sav and land it onto another LLM team just because it works with Liverpool ()
I get Renato's point.Maybe that's because i'm not LLM yet, but only trainee...... I understand that there is a guide line in here. I accept it. I even want to embrace it, and stick to it. But forums exist in order to get an argument going. If no argument is accepted, why have a forum at all??

There is a guideline.Good. MAke an argument over it. You are human, nothing but a human. You might make a mistake. Mind you, i do not mean that you ARE in mistake. I am open to any rational thought. Any THOUGHT.Not any ultimatum. Prove to me you are being rational over this.Phrases like the one above is irrational, and quite irrtating as that.
