Is it viable to send your players to rehabilitation and physio specialists etc if they have a dodgy injury that keeps on coming back...surely using the LLM ethos, and thinking back to Prem Man 97, doing such would firstly be expensive to send your player to see a specialist/rehabilitation, and often unrealistic because only the top stars ever seem to do this e.g. Harry R's son, England legend with 63 caps and 30 goals. Only once have I heard about this, some LL player had a cruciate and fans from the club raised a fund to pay for him to get it fixed. I don't know if it does cost on CM0304, but what do you do?
Personnally not in most circumstances, e.g. u19s or Reserves - a star player perhaps?? I'm just wondering because if it has no effect in terms of finances, should it be wrong? I mean the SWYCT rule(oops, guideline)is there to make things realistic to a LLC's situation, maybe there should be a NSFI (NoSpecialistsForInjuries) rule or something??
I would have thought that every professional football club would have a duty of care towards their employess and ensure that medical insurance is in place.
If a young player at any club got an injury which, without the correct treatment, could lead to permanent disability then he would be entitled to sue that club if it failed in its duty of care.
You could even argue that you are sending them down to the local hospital! I know you could argue about waiting times, but it's not always that bad. I recently broke my arm, and only had to wait a couple of weeks for my physio appointment, and am beeing seen regularly.
I normally find that when I am at a club strapped for cash that the "send for rehab" option never becomes available, even if the physio thinks that the player has a recurring injury.
Oh for the days of CM1 when you had to decide if you could afford to insure your players.
Church said the key word: medical insurance. A surgery should be paid by the insurance, and not from the club's or the players pockets. Then again, i'm not so sure LL teams will have insured their players. Perhaps when they have professional status they ought to. But don't know if they do when they are semi-prof or amateur clubs.
Not sure what it's like in CM 03/04, but in 0102 surgery and physiotherapy were definitely highly expensive. Largest fee for that I've seen so far were 90 000 pounds for an achilles surgery.
What happens when you ask your Board for Improved Training Facilities, or Stadium Expansion? "You look after the Team, We'll look after the Finances"
Keep your Players fit "as far as it's reasonably practicable". How long does he have left on his contract? Does he look like a good prospect? Is he a current and important first team regular?
If he's got 6 months left, is shÃ*te or a bit part player just be as loyal to him as any Club would be.
IOW, rehabilitate him if he's worth it, dump him if he's not.
