Just wondering like,
if anyone has had any sucess with any of the smaller nations.

Best I've done is get Denmark to the quarter finals of the world cup, but then i got sacked for losing the European championship qualifying playoffy thingy.

Anyone pulled off any surprise victories with little nations?

i won the world cup with england once

i was cheering on the other team during the final and still won 3-1

Applied for the Norway job for a laugh once and they gave me the job (before I figured out that what leagues were selected affected this). Couldn't work out how the hell I was supposed to find players to add to the squad though, got bored after about 2 weeks and quit.

Small Database in current game so not very much lower nation to manage besides Wales and Northern Ireland.
Currently managing Yugoslavia; got them to the quarter finals of the worldcup 2014.

Another, now corrupted, save I was managing Morocco: no succes there. Only group stage of the worldcup. Previous manager qualified for the worldcup. I didn't for the next one.

Would Australia be considered a smaller nation? Their world ranking would suggest it but I think the players are far too good if a full strength team is chosen. That being said, a fairly decent run in consecutive World Cups (SF loss to Arg then finals loss to Brazil) and a win over France in the Confed Cup Final with Oz is the best I have been able to manage.

The whole thing is...this has naff-all to do with this Forum.

If you do well enough with an LLM Team to be offered a National job then it doesn't matter if it's Bhutan or Brazil. If you get offered a National job you wouldn't pick the crap one, you'd pick the best available.

This is the Lower League Managers' Forum, the "Lower" disappears when your reputation is such that you attract National job offers.

as a LLM, it is close to impossible to get attracted by a nation. but before i quitted all non-LLM playing (that was 3 years ago) i played with mexico, norway, russia, turkey, hungary and ukraine. won the World Cup with the first four and copa america with mexico. managed to go to european championships with ukraine but knocked out in the quarterfinals but won it once with turkey. did absolutely nothing with hungary. hungary is real LLM if you can call nation managing LLM.
