Okey, you guys will probabl get ****ed now, but I take a chance. I decided to go a little bit easy on my first ever LLM game, and decided to manage Yeovil. It's located in Nationwide Division III and as I see it this qualify as a Lower league team, at least from what I read in the guide to LLM and stuff.
Yeovil is a team with no future... (sorry if there is someone supporting The Glovers in here, but still... )
My squad is not to impressive, but with a bit of training it can be good enough to stay in Division III at least. But what I wonder about is. How am I going to get new players? Am I allowed to scout players from my oppositions? And can I send scout to watch players from different teams located in England? And how can I sign new coaches? Can I use the "Staff search"? Which leads me to my next question, am I allowed to search with the player search to play it the proper way? I am just being curious here guys... Please answer me.
I have not signed anyone and won't until I know what is right. I don't have much of a transferbudget though and my only scout is busy searching for youngsters. What can I do ;p?
Best regards...Thanks in advance for future answers!

I did not understand it all.... Me thinks... The "unwritten rules" were just confusing me... As I said, I am new to this, don't think I would've posted if I was sure on how it worked.
And yes, Yeovil might have a future with me at the helm... Time will show. Anyway, please give me som exact details and info on my questions!

Using the coaching list is the only way you can sign backroom staff, so yes go there. Now if you a complete Zealot ( or fool some may say), you might want to have a look at this.
Scout oppositions? Yeah thats fine, but scouts are not in large supply that want to sign for a LL club.
Watching players?...How do you become aware of these players? If it is through news reports in the game, thats fine. But if you are going off past games, or RL knowledge, thats a no no.

Yes I understand that with not signing players based on previous games.... As you don't have that information when you start a brand new game as you had when you had played say 7 seasons with another club. But what I wanted to know was some more in depth facts about the Player Search.. (I've understood that the "All Transfers" button is a no-no) What is allowed in Player search? Am I allowed to look for players listed for loan? And players that's transfer listed? Feed me with a tea spoon.. I find the Guide you linked to very unclear.... (And yes, I've read it at least 20 times.. and just getting more foggy for each time I read it.. hehe)
Cheers, thanks so far..

The guide is unclear for one reason - because it requires your common sense. It contains mostly suggestions but don't forget - it's your game, you bought it, and you play in the style you want to.
If you want to play in the LLM way, read some topics here, spend some time thinking about them, and combining it with your thoughts about the topic. If you think that ever manager can get a list of all players available for loan around the whole world within 2 seconds is realistic, then go for it. We don't. |

The man above speaks with words of wisdom. The path of the LLaMa is a solitare existance, with no help from outsiders. The guidelines are just that. Guidelines, not rules. They give you a frame work on which to build your own style of play.
Loaners? Up to you. Personally I have a house rule were I can only loan players a maximum of two tiers above your current league status. ie: If I was in the Conference, I could only loan players in the Conference, Div 3 & Div 2. Div 1 loaners can only be brought to the club when I get to Div 3. Again that is my own house rule. Others play the loaning players scenario differently.
Players transfer listed? Up to you. Do what you feel is right.

Have a look at pages two back of the forum. There are some good threads where various issues like above have been debated and discussed.
Also do a search of the forum for areas that concern you. For example, "loan players" brought up five pages of results just on this forum. Some threads are utter carp, but others give you a further guide into how others play thier game.
Mold your own style. Thats what LL Management is all about.

Oh yes! We in Austria used to spend all our days hugging trees and cuddling bears and wolves. (*wink* Ian)
