Okay, so at first glance this is nothing new, but I've never seen things to this level.

On my current sojourn in Northern Ireland Glenavon have been bailed out by a new board 3 times

1/10/35 = £1.31 billion
12/2/36 = £855 million
30/4/36 = £634 million

So, assuming that we're talking American billions here, that's nearly £2.8 billion of bail out in 7 months. All for a little Northern Irish club paying players an average wage of £200 a week. They've managed to accumulate debt (assuming that this is all of it) at a staggering average rate of over £82 million pounds a year since the start of the game.

And no I am not playing CM4, definitely 01/02.

Now we know. They're a couple of fine rich mennies in Northern Ireland. It seems odd to think that a board would want to consider donating so much to a little club.

I don't even think that Man Utd would have that much in stash count.

I can only think there were three separate cash injections/takeovers due to interest payments still being paid for the old debt up to a certain date in the month (before the date of the takeover), but then even that doesn't really add up.

Not surprised to see those sort of debts many years into your savegame Mkus, Aberystwyth were in a similar situation 50 seasons into one of my old games, where the balance simply said "-0" in red, and the monthly interest payments were about £800M.

Maybe your clubs being used as a cover up for passing illegal funds to the IRA.

Maybe you should really check who the chairman of that club is.

When I was managing in N Ireland after a couple of seasons Glentoran had a very famous player as player manager and were paying him £35,000 per week . He lasted a couple of seasons. That accounts for about 3 million...

But if AI clubs the size of the ones in NI do that for years, the salary and interest could become massive.

I signed a player and he announced to the press that he was really looking forward to playing amongst players who were better than him. Not sure whether he was trying to endear himself to his teammates or tell me I was buying a dud.
