Something like that...I assume it'd been mentioned in GQ3 at some point, but I'd at least have expected a few people to come across it.

I'm wondering now if it was an effect of the mysterious 'Non-playing clause' that often appears when you buy a decent player at a crap club.

No ARSE command in this save, though I do now have it in 01/02, but as far as I'm aware, it does not work for this one.

What happens is you get a text saying about the referee calling it off because of the weather, and a black and white Match Abandoned message appears permanently on the fixture where the events occur. Also, I had the usual match report for the first half, and nothing for the second.

It isn't that rare, my former club captain managed four years on the trot, he'd also managed it before I took charge too.
