It seems this junket tours only occur when your scout is touring England. My scout in Italy always stays on the straight and narrow, while the English scout gets to travel the whole world.

Off-topic: Sorry for double posting(a little bit lower to this thread), explorer crashed right when i pushed the "Post now" button. Had to reboot, and my post hadn't appeared when i logged in here again.
On-topic(Hopefully ): I 'll try and guess which are the "realistic" ways someone can find players in Cm03-04. That seems to be the big issue now,and not the procedure to sign them, once found.

1) Send scout on youth players, obviously. results appear to be very few, and among them some odd nationalities appear. I don't take notice of the last ones.

2) Play friendlies against both Non-league and League teams. If something promising appears, i would scout the findings again, and not trust my own eyes.

Now moving on to treacherous area:

3) Use the interested screen, in the way that Taipan mentioned above.

4) Scout possible "good relationships" of newer signings. I think it's like asking the player: "Any other carp in your last team?"

5) In my desperation, I 've also used the "star system" in other league teams. That is, the key players of the other teams. Thankfully (before you bash my head in ), i've found that those players are the best performers week in week out, as they seem to change quite often. So, it's like using the AvR screens.

6) The players mentioned in the AvR, Appearances, Goals, and Assists screens in the league stats.
Hope I didn't leave anything importatnt out. I do know that half those ways are by no means justified in a CM3 game. I 'm talking about CM03-04.

YS was once a great community, but it has got buried in the depths of the forum listings this past couple of years. Very few people go there now, which is a pity.

Have a look down the bottom of the forums in the comunity section

Taips, scouting the Home Nations individually, UK & Ireland and for youth players, my scouts will generally report on 15 - 30 players.

The Carribean blokes have never signed for my Teams, btw.

I've signed two in my EMA game. One of em (the Jamaican) has played for English clubs before tho, so I consider him kosher. The other, a 22 yr old goalie from Antigua & Babasomething is a little fishy and i was more curious if he actually would sign than anything else. He was happy to sign a 60 quid/week contract (lowest wage in the entire team by far) but isn't all that great.

You'll only sign monkeys if you pay peanuts, Dale

it's easier for a man to become a monkey than for a monkey to become a man.

The player I was recommended had recently been on loan to Portsmouth I believe and signed for me immediately. He was very good too, in the Jamican squad
Im starting a new game soon though so no more dodgy signings!

I am doing a similar setup- large DB, 21 divisions- all UK & Ireland, + top divisions from Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Holland and Belgium. I am getting anywhere from 10-30 players per scout, + the dodgy Caribbeaners.

What really gets me about the 03/04 scouting is not the dodgy Caribbeaners, but the dodgy scouts. I ask for a scout of Wales, I get a lot of everything else. I ask for youth, I get a lot of 20-23 year olds who couldn't cut it at Scot Div 1 sides now playing at such places as Annan, Huntly, Keith etc.

I guess I have a "multinational LLM" except my machine would explode if I got all the divisions in Europe running. As it is, large DB is painfully slow in August and Janaury at the height of transfer activity. Otherwise it steams along quite well and the tradeoff for the 2-21/2 months of slow time versus the large DB is a good one. On medium there just wasn't enough players for my scouts to find.
