Hi Folks,
Anyone else had sucess using Montrose or a Scottish 3rd division club?
The main reason for posting was that I applied for a Job (Not sure if thats againsts LLM rules..) at Aberdeen, I have a reputation of Ok but I got beat to the Job by Steve Bruce!
Is this something folk have found before, that say scottish premier sides don't really look down the leagues for Managers? and take on unrealistc managers?
Hopefully I won't get flamed for this...
Cheers

Hi John,
Well defining success is very subjective, but I had a decent run with Montrose in CM4. My current team in 03/04 is Stranraer. THe best thing about Scotland LLM is the Div. 1 wall. It's a bear to get out of that. There is a nice quality jump between the two halves of the table, and always a couple of regular SPL sides fighting their way back. With one promotion place it really is a challenge.
As for jobs, currently with Blues I have an OK rep., and have not had an SPL team come for me. However, Shelbourne in Irish Premier League, and Clyde (Div. 1) have given me offers. I haven't bothered to apply for any SPL jobs because I am not interested, but I am curious to see if I will get approached at some point.
I think applying for jobs is fine in LLM. After all, if you aren't successful or don't have time in as a manager, you are going to have problems finding a job that isnt LLM

. If you are good enough to get hired by top side, then I'd say you earned it. Also, I like to start looking when I feel like I've done all I can at the current job, or just want a fresh challenge. It's all part of the LLM experience to me.
