Nope, we didn’t get anything near that amount unfortunately because Rangers seasontickets didn’t include that game and not that many Gers fans wanted to pay £25-30 to see us play them off the park.

If they had dropped the home fans ticket price down to about £10-15 they would have got a big attendance but in the end there was around 25,000, about 5,000 of us from Brechin. I’m pretty sure it was Rangers lowest attendance for a long time.

And we could have won the game if it wasn’t for their German keeper. The ground looked deserted, a bit like Murryfield will next season when Hearts hold their 'home' games there

Well you did get a nice bit of money...bstrds ;-) I'm a Mo fan by the way.....My step-dad and his mate went down to Ibrox for that game too.

Oi! We've not left Tynecastle yet. There's a long way to go before the decision's final

true - might be possible that Hearts are going to do a Livingston.

My dad wired up Montrose’s ground and floodlights when he was a young electrician working for a local firm.

If I remember correctly when Falkirk won the Scottish first last year and asked to groundshare Airdrie’s stadium the S.P.L said that this was unacceptable.

If it came down to a fixture clash then Airdrie would have priority due to owning the stadium and Falkirk only being tenants, and S.P.L teams were required to guarantee use of their grounds when needed.

Surely if Hearts were to move to Murryfield they would be in the same situation, with the rugby teams getting priority, although I get the feeling this rule was only used to keep Falkirk out.

Falkirk's been screwed twice by the SPL.

Hearts being the third biggest team in Scotland, the SPL will bow to any pressure to keep them in the SPL. It doesn't make financial sense otherwise.

It's not often you see the SPL and financial sense mentioned together

750k wages with Barry Town. You must have been 5000% over your wage cap. :o

Not sure whether this is something common - outside the UK anyway - but in Brazil you get a flat fee for playing in a cup match plus whatever your share of gate receipts is.
And that flat fee gets very important when only 1800 people turn up to what should have been a lucrative away fixture at a 1st Division club.

Not that I'm bitter.

Which reminds me of drawing Bayern Munich at home in the cup - with a whopping 1000 no seater stadium.
