pre-season dilema - money or wins? Post #11 | | Newb

I always found in the past that the Ass. Man arranges too many friendlies in a short timeframe so the players are too tired to learn anything. Does that still happen in 03-04?
My current game with Stevenage included a home friendly with Galatasaray first season.

No, it doesn't. In CM03-04, players gain full stamina after 3 days at most- not after a week. That's very important fot the pre-season.

My friendlies tend to get bigger attendances than my league games |

Friendlies are boring but unfortunately necessary to get your players match fit for the season.
I just whizz through them as fast as possible.

I always arrange my friendlies myself, and always against sides that I will face in the coming season. It gives me a first hand look at my new signings, gives them time to "bed in" with my tactic, and enables me to do any fine tuning with my tactic to accomodate my newly aquired players.
And it also gives me an idea on how the season will progress. Loose the majority of my friendlies, and it will be a good year. Win the majority, and I know it will be a tough season. |

My friendlies are ususally attended by two men and a dog, and the dog gets in free.

Pfft... charge the dog admission.. at least cover the costs of scraping the excrement off the terraces |

Exactly why I have mixed feelings winning friendlies. The formula never fails.

I didn't realise you get any gate receipts from away friendlies...mind you, even if a big club would play my side, they'd probably only get 500 fans anyway for such exciting opposition!
