Default LLM History

I was pleased to find the LLM History thread earlier this week only to find that all of the links were now dead!

The thread of which I speak

Would anyone be able to fill me in on some of the history mentioned in the thread?

There once was a history.
SI decided that history isn't important.
Anything since then is, um, water under the bridge.
Or something.

Some bright spark decided to kill off all the pre 2003 threads last spring.

Unfortunately that included threads like that.

Some of our veterans I'm sure can give you a brief history lesson however.

The Spanish FLC was a legend. Good for 40 goals a season, and hated by all LLaMas.

WingCo's Peterhead Career was a thread where WingCo discussed his career...at Peterhead

The ] Discussing the ] would diminish the mystique

Drunk Management playing CM while pÃ*ssed is not recommended for many reasons

River Plate One of the funniest posts in LLM History. In answer to some divvie's question "Are River Plate classed as lower league" L9L replied "River Plate are a moderately big club, and by moderately I mean enormously"

Gary-D was a guy who was temporarily modded whilst the SI Mods were living it up in London. He came into LLM with the idea of cleaning us up and made the mistake of calling Brody a To55er. World War III.

Modesty prevents me from divulging what I said in the thread referred to under it :o I was angry

iajafer's Liverpool() Career The b*st*rds offered me £83m in transfer funds to leave Whitby Town for Anfield, and I accepted. It was probably my favourite save ever, Leigh RMI, some other Club, then Whitby Town...it had lasted about 20 seasons...and I went to Liverpool() and gave up the .sav after about a month...I just couldn't lose

Nightharvest's career Andrew played about 100 seasons all over the World, a great career, a great read, and he lost it through a crash that lost the .sav. We were in mourning for a month. I miss Andrew, he was a great guy...last heard of in Africa.

Brody is a poof The original post was "Oh...and Brody...You're a poof!", but time altered it slightly to the current form.

The Official Guide to LL A Monumental Effort by L9L, full of hints and tips on how to play LLM, a truly great read...but it caused huge consternation in the Forum, especially with wocko and me. Great thread, wrong place.

Ask Zaq!!!!!!!!!!!! Zaq. I think it's the only time I've ever seen WingCo losing the rag Zaq set himself up as the font of all knowledge in his first ever post, and was shot down in flames

The Art of Flaming – Nobody does it better than Evo The title says it all. Evo is the best, no question. A volley from Evo would make a docker blush

The Meet Up Some of us went to Telford to watch Telford play Leigh RMI, drink beer, eat curry, and watch Poofland's lucky 5-1 win against the Germans. Great day.

Dr Nick's Problem Page Extremely original, extremely funny problem page

The Guide to Basque Teams Excellent Guide.

Choo Choo, I love you Leigh RMI Kris really did try an LLM game, but the regulars were less than receptive.

Real Life LLM Mr Iceland did, indeed, start up an LL Team in Iceland. Played in the League and everything. Yep.

Any questions?

Things to add post history cull...

Mkus' career, started at Chester City. Only update still running in forum. Three got an exception when the ban came in as they had been going for so long.

Dirk Dork's Belgian career.

Johnny Yakuza. Comic genius or demented soul?

Rek's recent second yellow card.

The birth of two fantastic LLM online games... one housed in SI played on 03/04 and one housed in the zealot forum on 01/02.
Tying in with that, the invasion of GQ-CM3 by the 01/02 one night whilst playing, resulting in all but one getting a warning or card.

The spate of yellow cards/warnings for abuse when the mods toughened up. Many a regular got something added to their status.

Any others?

Shame these were deleted, looks like a mighty good read. Thanks for the info iaj
I remember Johnny Yakuza!!

Nightharvest's career Andrew played about 100 seasons all over the World, a great career, a great read, and he lost it through a crash that lost the .sav. We were in mourning for a month. I miss Andrew, he was a great guy...last heard of in Africa.

Does anyone have any copies of this thread, maybe someone decided they wanted to keep it and copy and pasted it...wishful thinking I know

And I thought my loss was bad.

Started my 3rd season, won opening 7 matches including beating higher oposition in cup. Then the misses uses the computer for 5 mins and loses it all when the computer 'crashes'. I had saved just before the first game.

Started again with the first match and was 1 down with an injured captain after 10 mins; haven't been able to face it since.

And not forgetting my 23 season epic at Billericay Town --> Bedford Town --> Billericay Town --> Newport County --> Stoke City.
****ing save file got corrupted. Best game I've ever played.
