Did anyone noticed, that 90% of all corners shown, end up with a goal? I am terrified when I see acorner to be taken. Of course this rule does not apply to your team.

Errm, What level of highlights have you selected? You may only have selected to see the 'goals or very near goals' level option, thus explaining the high level of corner/goals % you actually see. I personally find that most corners don't end in goals, though maybe i'm lucky/unlucky (depending if im defending/attacking)

"In 03/04 of course, you can offer them to sides and that does work. But I think that mechanism is a bit suspect - something put in the program to deflect criticism about the lack of transfer activity. I mean, how many times do you see a computer team offer players?"
About 10 times a week? If one has players in his shortlist, after a while the AI teams start offering those guys on a weekly basis. It's very boring to have to reject every player in your shortlist.
I end up removing them if i don't care about them. Point is, it happens too often for me.
Corners are very easy to tune.. I'm now getting about 15 goals a season from corners. And if my defenders and midfielders were taller and better, they would score around 30. I've noticed that almost every corner my team wins is shown in key highlights, and 2/5 of them leads to a goal.
Have you noticed how easily your opponents can counter attack you, when you have a corner? It usually takes one header to send it to an unmarked, 20-paced forward, who then proceeds down your half with all your team chasing him.
Good thing is, he appears to tire by his run and normally sends it to orbit. But, until he does that, he has me on the verge of a heart-attack.. |

Indeed. I'm struggling to think of more than two goals I've seen Millwall concede after taking a corner, but can obviously think of more than that where we've scored from one.

I get 2-3 offers from clubs per season for players. They never seem to accept 'my' offers though.

Bloody game!!!
Now, I know there's a huge step up from Division 1 to the EPL, and I know that players who did the biz in Division 2 and then 1 will find it faster and more skillful in the EPL, and I know that ManUre and Arsenal will have far better players, as will most of the other teams given that we only signed a DRC and bought a AMR/L, but in the name o' the wee man...
The defence stand still and let the opposition run rings round them. When they do make a tackle they miss by miles then stand still while the attacker runs off unmolested. I tell them to close down and tackle hard, I'd be happier if they hacked them down and got sent off rather than capitulating like powder-puff pansies.
When the ball eventually gets anywhere near the midfield or attackers it's as if they don't know what a ball is. Passes never go to their team-mates, headers are lost every time, and the ball seems to go through my players, not over or around, and finds some Linford Christie-type winger who tears by everyone to lay off a perfect pass to his buddy, who slots it by my flailing goalie.
We'll give it a go, though

Hehe it sounds like the brutalizing my Stranraer side took against Celtic in the Scottish Cup over the weekend. In the name o' the Wee Man indeed! It must've been all that pent up aggression at Celtic Park from getting run out of the CL on a rail. I could've sent out my U19's and got as a good a performance. Disgraceful...
And FWIW, no tipping intended but I had a gob of my MC's sending over the bar, about 5+ a game at least. I set them to try more through balls and this seemed to help, though it didn't cure it entirely. Again, not meant to be a tip, but just a way to deal with one of the more annoying things about the 03/04 match engine.
