Why do Europeans write large numbers as if they are IP addresses?

Kfoolmoon, I hope your question was rhetorical. When will continental Europe adopt the pound?

Mkus, try and be more forward thinking. The Euro is the way ahead. Or maybe you'd like to go back to pounds, shillings and pence, and do away with this modern decimal rubbish

I'd like to cut loose the threads on which Britain is fastened so it finally drifts down the border of the world into the abyss....

btw - in some parts of Germany the pound is used - as half of a kilogram.

Obviously Europe adopting the pound is a null point as it would still be a single currency across Europe, and therefore a very silly idea. But I bet that there is a large number of Britons who would be persuaded that a single currency is a good idea if it was called, and looked exactly like, the pound.

IIR from reading or watching something on tele, the pound is derived from the Roman system of currency which was, at the time, the first 'European' single currency. Or at least, within the confines of the Roman empire...

Well no, it wasn't rhetorical. I thought that, what with England being a part of EU, they might have plans to substitute the pound with the Euro. It certainly looks like they don't, then

Europe will not adopt pund, becuase it is is artifficialy held at the same value. Ask yourself, why a something, that costs 20 euros costs 19.99 punds
