There would be an optional box on the new game screen called "show player values". You could untick this box to not show the value of the players. For me current value does not work, and I'm not moaning (i rarely use Transfer Market). Players are always bought and sold for different amounts than their current value, and I'm not talking only of youngers and mature players, but also players at their peak, or nearly.
What really annoys me is how AI knows the real value of a player (all AI teams bid for similar values) while that value is not close to current value and I don't have any idea of it until I see one of the bids.

So good idea for me.

It wouldnt be all that realistic. irl managers have fellow managers, playing/coaching staff, chairmen and the media when judging the value of a player. also irl you have time to watch a player yourself and calculate the buying and selling clubs situation.
Take gilberto for example. I reckon arsenal would sell for £6m. Thats just taking into consideration the amount of games he is playing,his age, the emergence of flamini.
This time last year there was no way arsenal would even consider selling him.
At the moment he is dispensible, but with flamini stalling on a new contract that could all change again.

I just feel that its too hard to get a bid for a player accepted even when you can see his value, never mind no value at all.
You also have to consider how much the value of similar players can vary from country to country.
