I have a large database. About 90 leagues loaded. My scouts and AM all have at least 18 for judging player potential and I am playing in the Premiership.

I have just finished scouting England for under 19 year olds. There were 2 4* players. The other 30 players were 3*.

Its the same in every country I search for.

What is going wrong? Is it to do with the rep of my scouts (all local despite being at a Prem club that plays in Europe and great stats for searching) or are the quality players just reducing for some reason in my game?

As further info, my worldwide knowledge is widespread and I can therefore pick up about 65k players when I search for all players. So I'm not short of players in my game!

It's a serious problem with FM08 - there was a large thread about it recently, although it appears to have fallen from the pages.

Basically regens are coming through with poor CA relative to their PA, leading to most international squads being filled with 30+ year olds.

It needs to be fixed although iirc miles has said he thinks it's fine...so if it will ever be fixed is another matter

SI seem unanimous in that they believe the game to be not only playable, but "their best yet" and while it clearly has the potential, it just isn't finshed; but until they accept it (which i truly hope they already do, and that the "we love the game" is just for PR) then i suspect it won't get fixed.

Well SI are plain wrong.

As a smaller Prem club, I have a restricted transfer budget, although that will increase as my stadium gets bigger etc.

But it still means that I can only buy 1 or 2 Prem quality players a year.

In the past, I could buy 1 or 2 players for now, and then 3 or 4 for the future.

Not to mention having to use useless yth players in the Euro competitions because I have no home grown players. That will never be rectified if there are no young players coming through.

I don't get you, Ched. Every thread you start or post in is to flame FM, or SI. If you dislike the game so much, then don't play it. I do think there is a problem with the Regens in the long run, but saying "S.I Think its fine" is here say. Where's this comment you speak of? because I have never seen it. And anyway, If you feel you have a problem with future Regens, why not make a comment in the Bugs forum instead of posting another thread on GQ, and telling people to "jog on" and not accepting a different P.O.V in a debate.

This game, in some senses, is the best yet, but in other area's needs development.

And it is playable, I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Truly tedious. I have only ever recieved thanks from any SI members who have responded to my threads.

1) they are constructive criticism - i state what is wrong, why i feel it is wrong, site evidence if it is needed, and often suggest how it could be fixed.

2) i have stopped playing the game, due to many issues with it - this does not give you the right to moan about my posting - which is DIRECTLY RELEVANT to why i have stopped playing the game.

3) i post because i want the game to improve.

4) i have commented in the bigs forum - however most of my threads, if you read them, were not simply bug reports, they were questioning the mechanics of HOW the game works - there is a difference perhaps too subtle for you to understand.

5) You've mistook me for someone else with regard to "jog on" - if you are going to pass accusation, do it accurately.

6) "SI think it's fine" is not here say, in any way shape or form. Look at Ov colliers (sp) posts, they state that they considered the game the best yet. Various sega employees have been on to state that the game was perfectly playable when it was shipped, and miles has stated several times that he thought THIS PARTICULAR ASPECT OF THE GAME WAS FINE.

If you have a problem with my posting style, simply add me to your ignore list.

There are many people who appreciate what i am trying to achieve here.

Even the best scouts aren't 100% accurate since the patch, so those 3's and 4's are just estimates (at least for PA).

You'll find many of them will eventually go up or down from year to year.

The way I scout is once I have my first team sorted I only ever scout under-21 year olds.

Rarely do my scouts (always with PA of 18+) find a kid with more than 4 stars for PA, but quite often these kids end up with a PA of 5 stars or even higher (and obviously their CA ends up there too) after a few years of development.

So you see the PA your scouts give you is not 100% reliable, even if they have 20 JA and 20 JP. It is not the player's PA you see but their perceived PA.

And it can rise (or fall) over time even though the player's actual PA does not.

What the hell is your problem???

Just because someone doesn't think the game is as good as you think it is, doesn't mean they are allowed to post constructive criticism?

2) I'll post what i want - if it's within forum rules (AS ALL OF MY THREADS HAVE BEEN) then i expect the thread to do as well or as poorly as it merits - i will be delighted if you contribute to them - even if all you say is "i don't agree"

As to 4) - i said questioned how the game works - AT NO POINT DID I EVER CLAIM TO KNOW HOW THE GAME WORKS - am i not allowed to debate how things could work?

6) the use of the word "considers" is context sensitive, in the context you used it, it means "contemplate" in the context i used it, it means "regards as" - again, clearly too subtle a difference for you.

So far I HAVE NEVER HAD A MOD OR SI EMPLOYEE COMMENT THAT MY THREADS ARE ANYTHING BUT ACCEPTABLE. If you disagree, feel free to report them to a mod and i'm sure they'll deal with it - until then, i'll critique whatever the hell i want.

Please don't misunderstand me nepenthez, i have no problem with you at all, most of what you post is perfectly fine, i just fail to see what i have done to offend you so bloody much - it's not like i start threads with "OMGZZ THIS GAME SUXX" - i maintain, if you think my threads are not acceptable, then report them to a mod, and we'll see what happens then.
