ok, here we go! just played Portsmouth, won 3-0. 2-0 up in first half, and my right winger gets sent off, so i sub a striker and bring a winger on, to keep shape in midfield, and leave one man up front on his own. half time comes and goes, we go on to win 3-0, and i look at the ratings at the end of the game... the player i substituted after 38 mins was rated 7 at half time, but 8 at full time?! how did his rating go up?? good contribution from the subs bench?!
Obviously, he was rewarded ratings-wise for taking one for the team (being substituted at 2-0, generally seen as a good chance to score more), without complaint.
Or maybe the ratings system is in fact a myrid of inaccurate donkey manure.

When I'm winning a game comfortably, I have a habit of removing the poorest performing player(s) in the second half. That usually means players who are on a 6.
Thing is, I often notice that their rating has gone up to 7 by the time the match ends.
oops, sorry about the screenshots! it was kinda early!!
definitely looks like it could do with an overhaul in the ratings dept then.
mike - i usually do the same, but i must admit its the first time i've noticed a player's rating go up! i could understand it if it was the red-carded player and it went down, thats fair enough, but this just doesnt seem to make sense to me...
