So here I made 1 .edt and 1 .ddt file for creating a small superleague. The only problem is that when I get to the 24th of august the game crashes (the entire process shuts down as is shown in windows taskmanager). Here's what I know:
a.) made a clean install of FM2006
b.) on multiple PC's (even one which has been formatted not too long ago and never had FM installed on it before)
c.) created the following files which can be found here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~cboumans/superliga%20part%201.edt http://www.xs4all.nl/~cboumans/superliga%20part%202.ddt
d.) edited nothing in the data by editor or by any other means
e.) currently running version 6.0.3 (no previous patches installed, just the 6.0.3 data patch for the PC)
The game seems to crash after it processed all the matches which were played on the 24th of august. These being the second matches of the third qualifying round for the Champions League.
I've also tried to start a game of by selecting both the dutch league and i.e the swedish, and then choosing as starting point march 2006, but then I don't even get to choose a team. The game then crashes while creating the new game.
If anyone has any idea why this happens I'd love to know, it would be greatly appreciated !!
It's because the game is trying to enter an almost exclusive "dutch" european champions league. It can therefore not put teams into groups as two teams cannot go together, but there are 8 groups, and more than 8 teams, so they will have to, but it is impossible, so it crashes.
You will have to turn Europe off, via the editor by inputting OCE as europes TLA for all nations. That is the only way to get it working.
Btw am I right to see that when I start a new game it seems that the dutch league is now in Oceania ? Seeing as when I check to see all the competitions, I get "Oceania" in stead of "Europe" (where you normally see the UEFA Cup and CL). What implications will this have on the UEFA Cup and Champions League ? And lastly, do the teams in the Dutch league now play in the Ocenia Club Championship like they used to play in the UEFA Cup and the CL ?
thats right. No they will not play in the OCE cups... nor will they play in the EURO cups as they have not loaded. It's just a way of turning off europe so super leagues work.
