so how do i keep hold of players,

i hear the player retain function is just to load all players from a certain club nation or whatever, so if im playing a game with good player in the 3rd di for example and want to work my way up with them to the prem how can i keep hold of them?

Set their transfer values to £20m and that should put clubs off poaching your players

Not true.
Setting tranfer values too high can make the player unhappy & lower moral & eventually lead to him not renewing his contract.

what you need to do is sign them on a long term contract with no release clause early in the game & then excel each year to keep them happy. hopfully by the time there contract is up you will be at a high enough league
