It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Loads of injuries during matches

During my second season with Liverpool, I have lost a lot of players to injuries of a month or more. These injuries have not been sustained in training, rather in matches, most often in matches against top opponnents. Does this mean that my players are getting bullied around on the pitch and that I need to take a more physical approach to the game? or is it just bad luck?

I am in March and have so far this season lost the following players (not all at the same time) to in match injuries:

Luis Garcia (2 months)
Luis Garcia (1 month)
Jamie Carragher (2 months)
Steven Gerrard (2 months)
Steven Gerrard (1 month)
Anthony Vanden Borre (1 month)
Steve Finnan (1 month)
John Arne Risse (1 month)
Ryan Babel (1 month) x 3 times
Dirk Kuyt (1 month)
Paul Anderson (1 month) x 2 times

Fortunately my squad is deep and I am still in the thick of things for the Prem, FA Cup and Champions league but still this seems like a lot of in match injuries. Anyone have any suggestions?

i guess you could cheat a little and check the injury proneness of your players using the editor.

but otherwise, i'd suggest either reducing hard tackling (which you've probably already tried), or doing the opposite and making your midfield players high closing down and hard tackling.

i havent really played this game long enough to know, but i don't know what the average number of injuries is per season (or per match). it does seem like a lot though

I had to download FM Modifier to get rid of the incessant amount of injuries.

Injuries in game and in training are a combination of:

Randomness
Team and player instructions for tempo ( too high for too long ), tackling (too high for too many players ) and closing down ( too often )
Injury proneness attribute for your players
Players playing when condition not high enough at the start of the game and falling below say 65% in game.
Training schedules being too intense for the whole season
Quality of coaches in general and the Fitness coach in particular- check out his fitness attribute and get one who has one with a 20 attribute
Quality of physios
Bad luck
