Does anyone know how the AI setups it´s tactics? I mean: does it use global or individual settings in mentality, passing, closing down, etc.? I read many people saying that they "understand" the game engine and know exactly how it work, so could anyone give their point of view about this issue?
The AI plays with a global setting on everythng bar closing down. I believe it uses the rule of five on closing down so it'll have all mids and forwards on, for example, 15 and then fullbacks on 10 and then centerbacks on 5. That's how I understand it anyways.
That´s ok, but I´m not sure because when I play that way, the AI usually trashes me, even when I´m managing a superior team. I suspect that the AI uses intrincated tactical systems, but it is just a feeling. Any thoughts?
And for the individual instructions? Mixed on everything, or what? Does the AI play to it´s players strenghts or it uses general tactics? I think understanding the AI we can build more succesful tactics, that´s why I´m asking a lot of questions about it.
Offtopic , But Didnt want to open a new thread .. Just a small question.. How do i use The tactics I have downloaded.. By tactics i mean *.tac files.. I saved them to the "tactics" folder.. But when i opened the game , i couldnt find the downloaded tactic anywhere... Anyone?

The AI is quite smart and obviously it depends from manager to manager. Some managers have a rating for diffrent things like 'Use of Playmaker' etc etc. I know the AI employs free role to very creative flairy players. As for individual settings it depends on the situation, attacking, defending, normal etc.
Personally I always concentrate more on my team then the opposition. If my team get's it's tactics right on the day then I'm usually more then equal and I don't care about 5-3 scorelines. I rather win 1-0 every match tbh.

One thing that I usually note is that the AI plays with two strikers and when I watch the 2D sim 1 striker stays forward at all times but the other one drop deep and join the defence. Isn´t that a result of and individual mentality or what?
That could well be free role- if you give one striker in a front two a free role he will operate in this way. I think there is a "free role" attribute for managers too, rated 1-20.
