I stumbled upon this flaw by chance before it hit the forums.. had a midfielder with 20/20 pace/acc, 20 technique and almost nothing else. Was hilarious to see him swoosh through the defense (who were busy doing other things), round or sidestep the keeper and net it


I think traces of this flaw still exist in FM07. Sometimes when playing against 1-striker teams, this lone striker is left completely alone in a huuuuge gap between the central defenders (who I guess are marking AMCs or MCs, either way they are VERY far apart), where he invariably receives a pass unpressed and has all the time in the world to score. In one match, the lone striker scored 4 against me, and that was after I double man marked him after the first 2 goals.

No, seriously. The coding of the game, the way it produces results and just the basic 1s and 0s that run the damn thing won't allow it. Honestly, they won't.

Unless someone hacks the tactic to produce a cheat, it just won't happen.

Not true... There isn't some peice of code making it impossible. There's still the possibility of a small flaw in there that, if attacked ribght, could result in diablo 2...


But then, hopefully it'll be found towards the end of a game's lifecycle so as to minimise it's impact on that year's release while ensuring it's fixed for the next.

I prefer the argument that EVERY successful tactic is exploiting a flaw in the match engine. In essence you are looking for a weakness and exploiting it.

(this will probably upset the 'tactical geniuses' who spend hours watching dots moving haphazardly around looking for just such a weakness-but so what?)

Its just that it will (probably) never be as pronounced as the one found by Diabolo and honed to perfection by (I think) Buxton.
