What happens when you set to show onto foot would mean the DC would learn more towards one side of a striker. Make sure your DC's are not defending on once side of an attacker because he can serious out turn the DC if the DC is slow. Say if the opposition striker is a right footer playing on the right FC position and you have set your DC to play him on the left foot(weaker). Although it is his weaker foot it does not mean it is useless. So what would happen is your DC would run out towards his right, completely getting out of position, leaving the striker to dodge him and instantly face your goal mouth.
However it is a must (to show on to weaker foot) when thier striker is a rightfooter playing on the left FC (left side of the two strikers) and vice versa, left footer on right FC.
Interesting point. I will try this in future games and see how it goes.
As a rule, I don't normally apply the 'weaker' foot instruction to FCS, only to wingers. In this case, I find it beneficial to drag right footed MRs onto their left foot and left-footed LRs onto their right foot. However, like your striker observation, I do not use this instruction on MRs who are left footed or LRs who are right footed, as this allows them to come inside and play killer balls or deep crosses.
Some one-foot players have perferred moves: try to move ball to right/left foot before dribble. I found show their weaker feet works wonder for me. Besides that, never tick show foot options for strikers. Will try your advice and see how it works. Thanks
