Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Playmaker?

What attributes are best when looking for a good playmaker?

Thanks in advance

I'd personally look for creativity, passing, flair, decisions, teamwork and preferred moves like "dictates tempo" etc.

Bear it in mind that it's fairly subjective though- different managers will look for slightly different attributes in playmakers.

Alternatively you can find what you deem to be a good playmaker in the game, and take notes of his strengths. Riquelme or Fabregas for example.

creativity, passing, decisions, balance, technique and " dictates tempo". Also a high value in " off the ball" is great, else its to easy for the opponents to mark him tight

I strongly recommend you don't use a playmaker.

The basic priciple of a playmaker is that he dictates most of your teams plays i.e. everything goes through him. Unless u have a fairly weak team with one exception playmaker type player, then this is more of a negative in my opinion.

I agree.

I find when i play a playmaker, the oposition mark him closely, and he usually ends up with a 6 rating.

And I'm playing as Ajax, just started my third season.
First two were very succesfull, with a 4-3-3 and always a playmaker. Won PD twice, Dutch Cup twice, and second season CL Final (lost 1-0, and sure it was this fluke in the 88 minute, after trying to change tactic, my players all started bumping into eachtother, must have been a bug or some... :p).
And the best part about a PM with the right PPM's and carefully selected Instructions is this little story:
After getting a shitload of money I managed to bring in Van Der Vaart for a total of 1/3 of my balance (!!!).
"And I was thinking of how long this story could end up being..."
So here's the FORM picture:

As far as I'm concerned, PM rocks!!!

Cheers, R.
