Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default creative freedom

i dont understand creative freedom so have set it to 1 for all players,

is this a good ideal or should i use creative freedom setting for each player depending on if he is def or mc or winger or striker????

also should you have wingers on forward run or not, aas i saw a thread saying have wingers on not to run forward as you want them to collect ball and then run forward

Every manager has an opinions on this. My opinion is that its very bad to give any player 1 for creative freedom. I dont like not letting players express themselves. Even defenders I give as much creative freedom as possible.

I give creative freedom depending on how much creativity and decision making he has. But no one has a 1 on my team. I know what if you keep it low they will obey your instructions, but if its too low they will follow though with it even if its inappropriate for the situation. So think about it.

But than again every manager and his own opinion...

thats true, my players never seem to pass the ball to a player in a better position, they just hoof it upfield, so i guess your right giving 1 for freedom is not a good idea, whats a good way of doing it then keep it a 10 and then lower it for less creative and higher for better ???

I have my centre backs with a setting of 1 for creative freedom. Got sick of them getting caught in possesion whilst they fannied about trying to play that killer ball. Leave the creativity to the players with the best stats for it!

Its a little bit different for each position because you have to look at different atts. But for defenders, I ususally look at Decision, Anticipatio, and positioning. Because those are the most important. If they are all 15 or above I'll give my defender 10. If they are less than I give him less. I hope this helps.

I'll give an example with one of my players. Check this guy o]Gabriel Lobosut. Plays for my Second Division side Almagro in Argentina. Now of course I have my different setting for away and home games. Low Closing down and Driect passing away. And Higher closing down and shorter passing at home. But if you look at all the stast I told you. His got 14 Ant, 15 dec, and 14 pos. Pretty good. His also got good passing as well. I can give this guy betwenn 7-10 CF. So just in case he chooses to close down a player anyway, or whoof the ball anyway. It can help a lot. A couple of time this guy, even though we played at home and his passing was low mixed, he made a nice long pass to one of my attackers and we scored a goal. So analyze each player carefully and you will do better.
