Hi, quick introduction:

This is the first modern CM type game I've played, the only other one I've played is CM on the mega drive many years ago so I'm a bit new to this, though i have been reading lots of guides and stuff.

In my first season I did very well and managed to win the Championship, picking up only Eros Corradini as a future GK and almost bankrupting myself by getting Breno. I also reached the Qtr final of the league cup.
I mainly used a 4-5-1 setup with 2 wingers.

So now to the 2nd season and I'm struggling, currently 3rd from bottom losing away matches 2 to 4 nil each time against the better teams. Home matches I might scrape a 1-1 or 0-0 draw.

Home games, I'm playing 4-5-1 again, this time with 2 wingers and someone sitting behind the ST.
Away, I generally do a defensive 4-4-2.

I'm not even sure where I'm lacking, is it tactics? Is it players? My ass.man only says I need to get more backups, rather than point out any flaws in my first team.
Certainly goals is the problem, having just under a 1 goal per game average over 23 games.

Any help I could get would be great
