Having exhausted the English League I am looking to start a new game with a team on the continent.
I am looking for a team with good potential (i.e. good stadium, fanbase, reputation, decent team, etc) but not one of Europe's superpowers (e.g. Barca. Milan, Madrid, etc).
I was thinking about Sporting Lisbon or Ajax but are the Portuguese and Dutch leagues too easy?
Any suggestions welcome!
Lyon looks interesting to me but then again that may be to easy.
What about Valencia, Roma, Feyenoord for a challenge.
Or start unemployed with a small league i.e. Sweden. The best save I ever had was in FM05 started unemployed and manager Enkopings got them to Champions League QF. Played about 9 seasons.
The only quarrel I have about managing in Spain & Italy is the EU Quotas.
Without these Palermo, Atletico Madrid, Valencia & Sevilla all seem very attractive prospects!
I always have a pretty good game with Dortmund, league is pretty competitive, have a big stadium to bring in future finances and they are not really one of the fancied teams in Europe so you can turn them into the best feeling as if you have achieved something.
Is HSV where Van Der Vaart & Kompany play?
I want a team who are clearly not the best in their league but have a couple of good players to begin to build the side around.
For example Atletico have Aguero, Forlan & Maxi Rodriguez.
