I'd like to see the Welsh Division 1 included. In fact I'd wager this would be one of the new leagues.

Yeah for sure quinny. I'd say thats a shoe-in. Well they did add an extra division for NI in this addition (nice surprise). I guess all the "big" leagues are going to get another step down, but that still leaves an awfull large amount of divisions still in the hat.
Minor football countries (eg: Australia) only have the one league, so some countries are going to have two or more extra divisions as far as I can see.
It's going to be interesting to see what transpires.

If there are many countries like Sweden that'll soon take it up to 47 Just selecting Sweden by itself takes me over the recommended number of leagues for my computer (not that I stick to that anyway, but still...) with it's massive mushrooming in Div 2!
Lots of lower divisions sound good in general though - I keep meaning to play a Sweden/Norway LLM because their league structure is interesting, but never get round to it. The simple 2 league countries with standard promotion/relegation tend not to hold enough interest for me!

By the way, shoe-in or shoo-in? Seen it spelt both ways, never known the difference in implication.
Can I get an etymologist?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I know what a "shoe" is, but what in heaven's name is a "shoo"?!

In one of those amazing coincidences, I saw an article in the past week that defines the term!
A shoo-in is "when corrupt jockeys form a ring to bet on a long shot, hold their mounts back and shoo in the horse that they have chosen to win. Do not spell it shoe-in; a shoo-in is a race in which the winner was the only one trying."

True. It's funny how people here always seem to get upset when I pronounce that word as it should be (like colon with an r).
The shoo-in explanation seemed plausible enough to me though, given that it's a figure of speech issue rather than simple spelling |

If they _do_ implement more lower leagues in Scotland/England, it will be interesting if they can reflect the true semi-professional player. Not being able to train seven days a week, three times a day, a real life job as a postman/cleaner/policeman, unable to play for the next two weeks due to RL commitments etc etc.
They can do the leagues, but will they be able to do the other offshoots of this addition, like above?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Well first of all, part time players need their profession displayed as an attribute so we can have a laugh (also realism )
It would be interesting to simulate part-time management as well by maybe limiting you to one chance to make transfer bids, alter tactics etc every 1-2 days rather than 3-4 times a day as you can at the moment.

I'd imagine there would have to be some changes to club status also - I think I'm right in saying at the moment that clubs keep the status they start the game with irrespective of the current state of their player contracts - i.e. a club that starts semi-professional is always semi-professional even if they rise up the leagues and have everyone on professional contracts.
That would need to change really if semi-professional players (or part-time players - whether it's an exact equivalent or not I'll let others discuss if they can be bothered!) are made more in-depth!
I'm not sure I'd like too much depth on that front though...I'm all in favour of realism, but when all is said and done it is a game and sometimes absolute realism can get in the way of good gameplay if it is too detailed!

Not sure about this one. Would you, as a part time manager, stop thinking about tactics just because you were at your "day job"? I agree that transfer bids might be limited, because you actually have to get people together for negotiations etc.
All in all, I think that implementing the effects of part time training would be more important and the best focus for SI in terms of adding that little bit of extra realism.
