I have just started a new game with a club in holland that is in debt. Running at double there wage budget. I have decided to get rid of some of the backroom boys which they have a lot of. Then I was talking to a friend of mine about the new game and he said that it would be unrealistic for a manager to come and start sacking staff straight away, i disagree with this but i was wondering what you people thought about this?

Happens all the time, new managers coming in...new broom sweeps clean, but ask yourself this:

Is it realistic for an LL Club in debt to sack backroom staff with the compensation payments it involves?

I would sack what you've got if you can/will replace them or think that you could cope without.

I'd say as a rule though that you're better sticking with the staff you've got (no matter how sh1t) than no staff at all.

I disagree with your friend. IRL, when a club appoints anew manager, he'll probably bring in his favourite personnel, and therefore the board will sack the colleagues of the previous manager.

On the other hand, this is a game. If your club has decent staff, i don't see a reason why you shouldn't keep them. As has been said quite often in this forum, there's a thin line between RL realism and CM realism.

When you start a game you get to know about players in the following ways*:

They are in your squad
You play against them
Your scout finds them
They do something worthy of being a news item

Otherwise they do not exist.

*I'm sure some smartarse will come up with another way.

You will know whose performing well in divisions because of top scorer lists, team of the week etc.

If a news item tells you that MrX is playing well, for example, of course you can look at him.

Who cares about the weather in England? I can see snow on the hills in Wales, however.
